Perhaps eBay Could Use…
One of these Keyword Tools we’ve been talking about?
“ all of its paid search ads from Google’s AdWords network in the U.S., an eyebrow-raising move likely to be interpreted in the industry as a sign of deteriorating relations between the two Internet giants.”
As way of an explanation - “eBay spokesman Hani Durzy Wednesday characterized the decision to pull the U.S. Google ads as an instance in a continued experiment eBay does to determine the best allocation of its advertising and marketing budget.”
Apparently some had the perception this occurred as a result of the Google Checkout Freedom Party on Thursday night which was in direct competition with eBay Live but Goog’s says it just isn’t so… “we did not want to detract from that activity.”
“We at Google agreed that it was better for us not to feature this event during the eBay Live conference.”
Ah, but there’s more to it than that - “eBay was rigidly refusing to discuss providing Google Checkout as a payment option for sellers and buyers on eBay.”
Methinks it is just some posturing and they’ll kiss and make up…

Ebay users should pressure the company to allow Google Checkout to be offered on the site. This should be the choice of the sellers, not Ebay. There are alternatives to PayPal, but only Google presence could force PayPal to lower their fees, and provide better service. In my opinion it is unfair that Ebay gets a fee on both sides of the auction transaction.
