Using money to make money

So you’ve received your first Google check and you ponder .. what to do, what to do.

My first reaction was to go buy an iPod, because iPods are cool. Then it was a new laptop, even though I have a new laptop. Then it hit me; why not use money to make more money?!?

Avoiding Blogger.com

More and more often I am seeing sites using blogger.com for their blogs and I have to ask myself why even bother? I would say at least 10% of the submissions to the 9rules Network are from Blogger sites and although I understand the service is free so many people just like to get it […]

Anybody With A BlogAds Invite?

I would like to try out BlogAds, but unfortunately you need an invite now to get involved so does anyone out there have an invite they can shoot me? I would greatly appreciate it. Ridiculous that I am the evil overlord of over 120 sites and I can’t even get into BlogAds on my own. […]

I Know SEO and I’m No Expert

I love Successful Blog not only because of the content Liz produces, but also because of the way she treats everyone. There is no such thing as people of lower class on her site, everyone is treated as kings and queens. Monday she wrote a piece on SEO Optimizing Blogs which was a practical start […]

The difficulties of explaining SEO

One of my many jobs being an Entrepreneur is website development which I do for small businesses. Many of these businesses are unaware of web technologies, search engine optimization and are generally computer illiterate so to speak.

Ads vs. Subscriptions

Barry is lamenting about how a lot of the problogging sites out there are all about how to get your readers to click on your ads and ad placement techniques. Successful Blog is different in that Liz likes to talk about how to build your site to keep readers coming back. No talks of money. […]

Acknowledging Affiliate Links

I just got done reading Credibility and Affiliate Links over at Performancing and have to admit I have no idea where this guy is coming from. My confusion starts here:

And I still stopped using affiliate links after initial feedback. Thinking back on this issue, I wonder how I could ever feel like including them was […]

Success is a 2 Step Process

Getting traffic. Receiving links. Spreading the word. Making money from your site. These are all things webmasters worry about, but they seem to over look the first two steps you need to make a site successful.

Give readers what they want.
Give readers more opportunities to find what they want easily.

In this Network I Like Cameras, Successful […]

I Need More Ads

Martin (the guy who refers to me as an idiot, which I almost wrote about, but then I got sidetracked by running two idiot Networks with my idiot brains) links up this article by Connie Berg on websites adding more and more ads to their sites.
*Sidenote: Maybe it’s just in this community, but does anybody […]

Google Analytics

In March Google acquired Urchine Software Corp. leaving many, including myself, wondering what Google could possibly want with a successful stat tracking program. Well it seems that the answer is finally out with Google Analytics. It’s free to signup and free to use, but after doing so the system says that it will take 12 […]

Google AdSense/Firefox Affiliate Program

Last week Google made it easier for webmasters to retrieve links to their Adsense/Firefox referral programs. Each of these programs are easy to setup and are well worth the short time and effort it takes to get them up and running on your site.
Adsense
The Adsense Affiliate program pays you $100 whenever someone signs up under […]

The blogging facts, is nobody listening?

Friends, family, coworkers and generally people who “know me” are well aware that I manage many websites and blogs. They also know that I earn MONEY from these websites. Recently people have come up to me expressing interest in starting their own blog, for the purpose of creating a revenue stream.
