Time To Stop Playing Small
John Assaraf asks: “Do you ever feel like you have so many things to do and so little time to get them done? Do you ever feel like life is happening to you and sometimes the high quality of your life or day just isn’t there?”
Well, he** yeah… of course I do!
John felt the same way once and devised a solution - a simple “values-based decision and action process for himself that many other people have found useful.”
It has two steps.
“Take 15 minutes and write down all the things you value in your life. When you are done, rate them from 1-10 or more. Next is ask yourself this question:
What must I do today to act upon my highest value?”
For me, there are a couple of statements in this entry of John’s that I’d like to practice and feel;
“When you start your day off with what you value most, your sense of doing and living with your highest purpose and for your highest values will make you feel great every day.
When you take care of the highest values and most important things first, your life has more meaning and you feel fulfilled.”
Use John’s Daily To-Do Planner available here. It will help.
With his latest post I am reminded that a “man all wrapped up in himself makes a very small package” (see Ed Whitacre) and I know it is time for me to stop playing small and grow. I have no idea how much time I have left on this rock and its time.
“It’s time for you to believe and act like the spiritual power that you truly are and stop relying on the lower abilities that you think are your power centers. Now is the time for you to realize that you can create whatever you choose. However, you’re not alone in the process—the intelligence that manages everything in perfect harmony and order is all knowing and omnipresent. You must assume your role while trusting its brilliance.
