Are You Exhibiting Anti-Social Behavior On Your Blog?
Borne of personal feelings and many years of experience in the “real” world…
In response to Michael Arrington’s post today at Techcrunch “What’s Really Going On With Podtech?” within which he extols the talents of one specific individual (of a few).
For your consideration - do you realize that there are folks out there with lots of capital ready and willing to finance you? What are you willing to do to get a piece of that pie? The answer ought to be anything.
Now see that Podtech received $5.5 Million in funding in March, 2006 and another $2 Million two weeks ago.
Make believe that you are a venture capitalist and visit this entry and give serious thought to what you might want to do with your money were you to be asked for consideration for funding by the outfit that associates themselves with this person.
Mr. Arrington says (quoting John Furrier) “All employees [at Podtech] are encouraged to spend some of their time creating content, as Robert Scoble does with Scoble Show. Other than that, Furrier says, the company is out of the content creation business.”
And my thought becomes, propagating and promoting, thereby perpetuating bigotry and prejudice may be content in some places but not where I want to spend my money.
Also to be considered ought to be that this references only one post. Go ahead, scan through 1938Media and see how often the “F” word is used (or other such commonalities).
Anti-Social behavior. Should not be rewarded. But, this is just one man’s opinion.

Not only is there anti social behavior from Feldman, but now he has become the stereotype through the juxtaposition of the video you mention and this new one. Where are the Black Tech Bloggers?
No. I won’t link the minstrel show performance by Feldman, and even more to the point than Podtech’s VC affiliations are those with it’s sponsors.
I’m quite sure that the premier Silicon Valley brands that sponsor Podtech do not realize they are being assoication with content that is biggoted and beyond the pale for language and threats of violence. Check the front page of Podtech and you’ll find top notch brand names like Cisco, Adobe, Symantec, Intel, etc..
It appears we have our very own Don Imus in new media. The sponsors should be made aware.

I think - he thinks not - about sponsors. He has some indefinable personal agenda. Self-centered despite any “help” he may have offered anyone - it’s all about Loren. I agree, the sponsors ought to know. I’m left wondering whether they’ll do anything and that might say it all…
Thanks for stopping by.
