Yahoo Ads on Whitespace
Yesterday was the first full day of having Yahoo Ads up on Whitespace. Whitespace is not a site where people click on ads and the CTR is very low since the majority of the readership are returning readers and not search engine folks so I didn’t expect anything major happening on that front either. With that said between WorkBoxers and Whitespace I received a whopping 7 clicks…
…which put me into double digits money-wise!!!
Insane. If Darren could run these he would easily trump $20k/mo and can you imagine what kind of damage Calacanis would do? Sick.
I would like to get the new WorkBoxers up next week. Like being the keyword there.

All I can say is that I want in. They need to release it to the public!

7 clicks isn’t large enough a sample to say anything. I’ve seen clicks on AdSense for several dollars before, but in the long run (over tens of thousands of clicks) it all averages out. In the end it will probably be about the same as Google.

Jon, in most cases I would agree, but this has been going on for over 2 weeks now. I am consistently seeing clicks over $1. I know this will change once more people are in the program, but it’s good to see now because it will definitely raise the % Google gives its publishers.

How did they choose who to invite for the beta? This is the first I’ve heard of the Yahoo Ads. Pretty nifty. I like it when monsters give other monsters a run for their money.

Can you have yahoo ads and adsense on the same site, or is it prohibited??

No. I think it is prohibited.

Those are insanely great numbers. It makes me wonder, advertisers really pay this much? And of course they must be earning more than they’re spending, right?
I just hope we’re all headed the right way and not over-valuing net “commodities,” lest we want another crash.

I always thought that greater proportion returning visitors click on ads than search engine visitors. You seem to assume the opposite. Can you point were you got the figures please.
