Sinking A Bit Lower?

The discussion regarding AdSpyPro, Google Cash Detective and now PPC Defender (plus new platforms about to be introduced) may have sunk to newer depths. How’s this for a philosophy?

“Well…this could be just another classical **BLACK HAT** marketing tactic! If I have been making A LOT of money from Adwords, I would register a shared server and using ASP or GCD to spy on 5,000+ keywords per hours.

Consequently, my webhost will have to ban all spying tools on their shared servers. Basically my webhost is killing off my competitors FOR ME!”

This results directly from a notice sent to Hostgator customers which said;

“This message is to inform you that adspy and related programs (google cash detective, etc) will not be permitted on shared servers in the near future. They have consistently caused server load spikes and service outages. I can re-enable your database so you may back it up, but please keep in mind that in the very near future (a matter of days), we will be updating our terms of service and not permitting those types of programs on the shared servers, simply due to the amount of problems they generate. Please let me know if you’d like a copy of your db/files or anything else, and I’ll do my best to help. Thanks.”

Are your web sites hosted on a shared server?
