Goodbye, Farewell and Amen
Ah yes, the title of that famous M.A.S.H finale all so many years ago. It was dubbed to have had one of the biggest television audiences in TV history.
WorkBoxers is closing.
Scrivs has decided that with this site being such a personal site for him, he doesn’t want to see it neglected any further. Even though I have held up the blogging responsibilites and kept it alive, he doesn’t have time to contributue and would prefer it closed up and shipped. Obviously I cannot just take over as quite a few posts are the property of Scrivs. We are undecided as to what will happen, either I take my posts somewhere else or we end up selling it and splitting the amount.
I would like to thank Scrivs enormously for letting me blog on such a respected website. WorkBoxers was my entrance into the blogosphere and through this site I have made many friends.
I would like to thank the following people;

- Darren Rowse, an inspiration for us all and an all-round good bloke
- Matt from BlogMedia for actually commenting in my posts :P
- David Krug for being the Cowboy of all Cowboys
- Yaro Starak, quite possibly the first real blog I ever read

I’ll be continuing to blog on the other two sites that take up my time, you can find them here and here.

sorry to see this blog end - it’s a pity as it has some amazing content in it’s archives but I guess priorities change and there’s no point keeping things going for the sake of it.

Awww that’s such a shame. But I can see Scrivs’ point too. Sometimes one just has to scope things down a bit.
Let me just say I really enjoyed this site and it’s content whether it was posted by Scrivs or you. I’m sorry to see it go.

Well, besides Darren, Yaro, Matt, Cowboy and even Aaron Wall .. I’ve been reading the Jamsi posts and enjoyed them. You were doing a good job i.m.o. Good Luck with the other blogging though! It’s not goodbye .. it’s just a change in address notice.

Not really a suprise. I had taken this feed out of bloglines a while ago. This was definitely the right move to make as I hate seeing when a good blog goes bad. Unfortunately Jamsi your posts really were not up to the high standard that Scrivs set. He built Work Boxers and it’s predecessor Big Money Tips with mostly thought inducing posts that would challenge you or give you ideas to expand upon. Sorry but IMO stating the blindingly obvious just doesn’t cut it at Work Boxers. Though good luck with your future ventures as I’m sure being involved at here and as part of the 9rules network would have been a learning experince.

One thing to consider with the site…even if you get to keep your content there are going to be cached copies of posts that people looted and your new site starting from scratch will not have as much link popularity as this one built up throughout its history, at least not off the start anyway.
Rather than switching domains I would see if you could just get Scrivs to let you keep the domain and pull whatever posts he made.
If he is unwilling to do that, make sure he at least 301 redirects this domain to your site until whatever point in time he decides to resurrect this site again. Given my limited understanding of the working relationship I feel he owes you this, and this will help your new site build off the authority you have established here.
301 redirects are pretty easy to do. There are many examples of how to do them posted across the web. Just make sure you save a backup of your old .htaccess file before changing it.
