Aaron wall is going down

by admin on July 31st, 2006

Well not really, catchy title don’t you think?

There’s someone over at seocontest.net who’s on a mission. Yep you guessed it, their plan is to take down Aaron Wall’s number one spot for “seo book” on Google.

He (or she) goes by the name of “NetSearch” and has already gained the with the site seobook.org.uk. An amazing feat if I may say so, but let’s look a little further.

According to this V7N post, seobook.org.uk ranked 5th after just 8 days. Many people have trouble getting ranked in Google at all within 8 days, let alone #5 on Google for a semi-popular keyword…

Keyword Density
seobook.org.uk: 7 (15.05%)
seobook.com: 115 (14.33%)

Hmm, density is fairly even.

Back Links
seobook.org.uk: n/a
seobook.com: 3,490

Now I know Google’s back link count thingy isn’t accurate so I’m sure seobook has more actual back links. Google was unable to tell me how many links seobook.org.uk had, due to how new the website is.

I applaud Netsearch. A challenge has been set and the race is on. To be honest, Aaron Wall should not be scared. He has link authority, it’s as simple as that.

I’d say there could be a bit of Google honeymoon period with that high ranking for seobook.org.uk.

I can’t confirm or deny the existence of the honeymoon period but I have noticed that with a lot of my new pages they gain top rankings about two weeks after going live then start to drop down - after the honeymoon so to speak.

    Time will tell of course…

It’s not really that unusual, if you have a good domain and content. My Anti Valentine site got to #2 (google.co.uk) and #3 (google.com) for ‘anti valentine’ (with or without quotes) on Google within about two days of launching it, and it’s stayed there ever since.

He’s ranking quickly because the domain is an exact match for the kw. You’ll notice the ‘anti valentine’ example is the same thing. And no way he’s gonna beat AWall.

He (or someone else with similar plans) asked me to help rank for that term. I dismissed it as folly.

Pretty impressive, to be quite honest.

As to the links, check it out via Yahoo. Or use Aaron’s firefox plugin to check it out, lmao.

Well, right now there are about 600 links in Yahoo. Amazing. I guess if Aaron doesn’t do anything, he may lose the spot in year at this pace. Not the reputation, of course :)
