Shareasale Affiliate Guide

by admin on June 2nd, 2006

Recently I joined the Shareasale program as an affiliate and so far am very impressed!

Shareasale is a marketing solutions group that offers an online based affiliate system to businesses. If you’re selling a product, Shareasale can provide you with an automated affiliate system that will help generate traffic to your website. Many people use Shareasale to help Internet exposure, an example is those that sell eBooks or other products online.

I signed up as an affiliate and suddenly thousands of affiliate programs were at my fingertips. The registration process is fairly painless, though it does require a validation method to prove you are the owner of your website. Confirmation of my application took about 10 or 12 days from memory so don’t fret if you don’t hear back from them, they must get flooded with applications.

Once approved, you can browse by category to find which affiliate program will suit you best. Defiantly try and stick to something close to your niche, in my case I choose a funny T-shirt affiliate program that matches my Funny Videos website perfectly.

Once you have chosen your desired affiliate program, you’ll need to apply to join. Some have an automated option which means you can be up and running within a matter of minutes, whilst others require a manual approval process. When you have successfully joined, you will gain access to affiliate statistics and promotion media such as text based links and graphic banners. Simply use the code they provide to place advertisements on your website, newsletter or emails.

For every sale that originates from your website, you will be paid a certain amount as decided by the affiliate owners! In my case, for every t-shirt sold I receive $7.00.

While Shareasale won’t generate you a bucket load of money due to its pay-per-sale nature, affiliate marketing is an often overlooked money making method. Sure you won’t make a sale every day or a week for that matter but it all adds up!

Ask Yaro about his incredible affiliate story !

You mention that in order to join shareasale you need to own a website. Is having a blog like this considered?

    Hi Linear63,

A blog or web log is a website. If you’re talking about a free blog such as blogger.com then yes that should be fine. I don’t remember reading anything about people being denied access because they have a free blogger account ..

I came across shareasale through a blog as well which then made me come to your site. I am researching on how money can be made online thus discovering shareasale. Are they looking for related websites prior to approval?
