Scrivs is a hero

by admin on May 24th, 2006

My favourite hero is Superman. Who else saves the world with superhuman powers, always gets the hot girl and comes from a planet far far away. Plus Lana Lang is such a hottie (for all those smallville fans).

While Paul Scrivens doesn’t have superhuman powers, he does have a heart. Paul has decided to hand WorkBoxers over to me. The content, the domain but alas not the template. This comes 1 day after I launched LostMyBoxers .. coincident?

I’d be crazy not to keep the workboxers domain, especially with such a great pagerank and all the backlinks that have accumlated over the years. Due to this, LostMyBoxers.com will be put aside.

The suit has been put in the walldrobe and I’m back in my work boxers baby.

    Yay :)

Now if we could just get a little tiny bit of padding in this template…

I too, never removed the feed .. Mind you, I’ve never removed any feeds from my Bloglines and the count is almost 1300 now ..

    Thanks for the words Bill.

Kyle - expect some serious padding action soon :)

HART - 1300, my god that’s alot. I fear thats the scenario that Mr Problogger once talked about, when people waste time reading rather than spending more time creating quality posts. I’m a victim also.

Jamsi .. that’s true, about the reading. I have only about 10-15 folders and feeds I read daily, and I kind of pick random folders, for stress release really, and only scan a few sites .. if something catches my eye - I tend to just surf their sidebars. In my Bloglines, I have folders I haven’t touched since April, just to see how many posts they make in a month.

You have to wonder if the above comment is spam or not. I’m 80% sure.

  • Lea

    Only 80%? :)
Just ask yourself “is the comment adding anything to the post?” :(

{whine} oh, you only link to your *friends* in the friends box, eh? … no, wait - that makes sense! ;)

Those spammers sure are getting smarter.

Want to be my friend Lea? :P

Nice site you have there by the way, I’m guessing your an Aussie (me too) and I followed the whatismyip.com sale when it was on auction - I think it reached over 300k or something?

  • Lea
    May 28, 2006 at 11:38 pm

    Yep, local girl, here!
That sale was insane - no way that domain name was worth that much and they’ve done almost nothing with it :(
I’d love to be friends! You’re down south in Melbourne, right? I’m feeling the winter breezes in Brisbane. I had to find a jumper last week! ;)

A jumper in Brisbane, my god has the world gone crazy!

  • Lea

Oh, gee - don’t start me on sports… thats all they talk in the bar at the $POE!

Jamsi: so I shouldn’t mention the fingerless gloves that let me type and not freeze? ;)

  • Jamsi

Blogger: I’ve only seen one game so far and that was the one we won !!

Lea: Ah yes the fingerless gloves. The fashion that was 1995 :)

    So, Jamsi,
Scrivs is my hero too and I too love the design of this site. But why is it us Lois Lane types never get to win??? Do I have to through off my glasses and pull out my dancing shoes to teach Scrivs and you a couple of good moves before Lois beats out Lana Lang???

[…] Some of you may know that Bill’s Baby was originally launched as part of the FineFools network, run by Paul Scrivens separate from the immensely popular and successful 9rules network. Unfortunately, FineFools wasn’t even vaguely successful (IMHO) and authors like myself failed to receive anything like the levels of support that was expected. After the key bloggers left and took their content with them the network (minus a couple of blogs) was eventually sold recently for just $4,500. Like Jamsi at Work Boxers I was handed the domains and content for Bill’s Baby and Web 2.0 Blog (the Web 2.0 blog that I ran on the same network), however, unlike Jamsi I don’t hold Paul Scrivens in quite such high regard: My favourite hero is Superman. Who else saves the world with superhuman powers, always gets the hot girl and comes from a planet far far away. Plus Lana Lang is such a hottie (for all those smallville fans). […]
