There ain’t no GoogleRankSecrets

by admin on June 14th, 2006

I woke up this morning to find an email sitting in my inbox titled “James I Can’t Believe It!”.

Curious, I opened the email and found that Darren Gaudry’s GoogleRankSecrets eBook was reduced to $37 for the next 48 hours ONLY. Oh yeah, it also included 8 other eBook bonuses.

I got sucked in real bad.

Credit card in hand, I ordered my copy and within minutes GoogleRankSecrets was mine! A 49 page eBook I thought, I wonder how long it would take me to read it.

Roughly an hour later I had finished.

I was chatting to Yaro about the book as he had also purchased it and we both came to the conclusion that the book is primarily aimed at beginners - we couldn’t find any secrets. In saying that, I’m glad I forked out because it did in fact increase my knowledge on how Google works. There were a few little tidbits that I wasn’t aware of in regards to the different methods Google use to rank websites, and the various impacts certain SEO techniques have on your Google ranking.

All in all, a great purchase for anyone who’s fairly new to the Internet marketing business. I can see it being especially beneficial for those that are looking to move their business online – where a good Google ranking is everything.

If your after a more complete guide to search engine optimization, I recommend Aaron Walls “seobook“.

I got one like that today (almost missed it because my spam filter caught it). It was called:

“Get top 10 rankings on Google and Yahoo with proven software tools”

I’m not going to buy it.

I keep hearing about Aaron Walls “seobook.” Is it really that good or does he pay blogers to say that? He must have done something right because his site comes up as number one for “Seo book” on google and I checked, there are over 4,000 backlinks.

    Hi Brian,

No Aaron Wall is not paying me to say that haha. He is geniunly a good bloke with real information. It was not whacked together in a matter of days, but what looks like months and months of research and preperation.

As far as being ranked number 1 for “seobook” - thats SEO at is finest. Or perhaps Aaron secretly works for google… o0o0o.

    I just found this:

    http://www.seobook.com/rf/

(I don’t know if you comments allow linking)

It’s the address of the affilate program for seobook. So if your not getting paid now, you can start getting paid. ;-)

I’m already signed up Brian! When I said Aaron wall is not paying me to say that I meant he personally didn’t contact me or anything. I promote his product because I believe its the real deal. So technically if you click that banner on the right of the WorkBoxers site and you purchase SEObook then yes, I get a commission :)

It’s funny, because from the title of your post I assumed it would be a negative post / review of something.

When I read the post I was surprised that overall, it was fairly positive.

Question: did you write the title in such a way to attract more readers, because a more “controversial” title might attract more traffic? Would a title such as “GoogleRankSecrets is worthwhile” not have been as effective?

I’m mostly curious because I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about blog post titles lately…

    Hehe Ben.

I honestly hadn’t thought about it. I mean when you get down to fact, I didn’t find any secrets but I’m sure a beginner would find this eBook valuable.
